The cold war between the All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA and the All Progressives Congress APC over the visit of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu to Anambra state got to it’s climax late yesterday when it was announced that the wearing of all party uniforms and that of support groups have been banned .
Recall that since the announcement of the one day working visit of Tinubu to Anambra state both parties have been at each others jugglers each laying clam and ownership of the all important visit.

Though it is not clear if the banning was announced by the Presidency of the office of the Governor of Anambra state, the Special Adviser to Gov Charles Soludo of Political Affairs Dr Alex Obiogbolu has already directed party members and the over 130 Soludo Support Group not to wear their uniforms to the event .
He noted that the visit is not a political party affair adding that all and sundry must comply.
When contacted the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress APC in Anambra state Chief Basil Ejidike declined comment but was quick to add that as a political party that produced the President, the wishes Tinubu a hitch free visit to Anambra state.
He however did not confirm if he is aware of the ban on party uniforms during the visit but added that the party shall welcome President Tinubu as they are citizens of Anambra state.
So far no one is seen wearing any uniform that indicates party loyalty while the only uniform that is seen is the official green and white ceremonial uniform approved for any Presidential visit in any state of the Federation.
However the duo of the People’s Democratic Party PDP and the Labor Party have shown indifference over the visit as non of them made any form of arrangements to welcome the President.
State Chairman of the PDP Engr Chidi Chidebe said that the President as a Nigerian has freedom of movement and association but was quick to add that the party is more occupied in ensuring the welfare and happiness of the common NIgerian when elected into office.
At the Labour Party office in Awka no party chieftain could be reached but a member of the party told this reporter that;
“How can you welcome a man who the world knows that he did not win the last general election?”
“That would be legitimating what is illegal and our party has no interest in that ; he noted.
