Former Ezeagu Local Government Chairman, Chief Chukwudi Ezinwa has picked the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP nomination form for House of Assembly.
Ezinwa is the leading aspirant for the Ezeagu Assembly slot going by the institutionalized zoning formular which has guided the people in politics.
Ezinwa who left office as Council Chairman over two years ago had been down, nursing his frcature following an auto accident.
His entrance into the Assembly race was gingered by the 20 Councillors in Ezeagu who worked with him during his tenure.
They visited and requested him to make himself available to contest any politcial position of his choice pledging their total support.
“I looked at the positions in my area and the one that is due for my people considering the existing zoning formular in Ezeagu, is House of Assembly.’
Speaking to EverydayNewsngr.net shortly after a consultative meeting with the Secretaries of the 20 wards in Ezeagu Chief Ezinwa noted that every Local Government has its own perculiarities.
“If you come to Ezeagu, what we share as a local government are three positions.
“They are: Local Government Party Chairman, House of Assembly and Local Government Executive Chairmanship positions.’
He explained that Ezeagu has three blocks that shares the three positions.
“So at any given time one block must have one position.
“But in life, some people don’t like when things are well arranged. They always put confusion, they always put hiccups on the way.
‘So I looked round and said yes, the man in the House of Assembly now, my very good friend, my ally and brother is from Ezeagu North; and he has done eight years.
“Based on Ezeagu tradition he is good to go and the position will move to Ezeagu South.
“In 1999 when we started, the man who took the first choice was Dr. F.S.A Uzoh, now the Chief of Staff. He did four years, when he finished, from Ezeagu North, it moved to Ezeagu South where Rt. Hon Paul Anikwe took over from him. Anikwe did eight years after which it moved to Ezeagu Central. And it fell on Mrs. Cecelia Ezillo, now Enugu Deputy Governor. She did four years. And when she was promoted to the position of Deputy Governor where my brother, friend and ally Hon Chima Obieze took over from her.
“Now Chima Obieze has done eight years, justice demands that it goes back to the South. And when it comes to the South, it is precisely coming to my community.
“We have three blocks in the South, the Umana, Obunofia and Umumba according to seniority.
“By 1999, Umana took the first shot to the House of Assembly, Paul Anikwe, eight years, and it left our block.
“Now it’s coming back to our block, it will go to Obunofia who are next in line.
“Thats why I am running. That’s why I have obtained and submitted my PDP nomination. I believe in justice, I believe in rotation and our Governor, His Excellency Rt. Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi is known for justice. I know I will get justice because he has never failed our people in upholding our age long Zoning system.”
