Anambra Security Chiefs Meet Ahead Of President Tinubu’s Visit

Three days to the working visit of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu to Anambra state, security chiefs met for five hours aimed at ensuring security during the visit .

The security chiefs who are Service Commanders in the area have put in place architectures at major flash points in the state assuring the Presidency of a hitch free visit .

Meanwhile the Anambra state Capital is wearing a new look while the state government has announced traffic diversions within the Capital Territory.

Similarly, contractors handing projects at the new government house have already handed over their projects as well as contractors at the Solution Fun City Awka .

According to the Commissioner for works Engr Ifeanyi Okeoma ;

“We are set for the Presidential visit and as I speak to you all our contractors have concluded their jobs and handed over to the state government confirming the conclusion of their jobs ” he said.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer of the Anambra Police Command SP Tochikwu Ikenga the meeting strategized on the security protocols during the visit .

“The Anambra State Security Chiefs convened today, Monday, 5th May 2025, in a closed-door meeting to strengthen security arrangements ahead of the scheduled visit of the President to Anambra State—popularly known as the Light of the Nation—on Thursday, 8th May 2025”

“The high-level meeting, which lasted for five (5) hours, featured detailed briefings from heads of various security agencies”

“The deliberations focused on reviewing current security intelligence, assessing threat levels, and implementing fortified security measures within the capital city and across strategic locations. Key areas of focus included joint operational deployment, coordinated patrols, and surveillance strategies”

“Additionally, the session addressed operational planning, inter-agency coordination, and contingency preparedness, ensuring the development of robust response strategies for various possible scenarios during the presidential visit”

“Agencies in attendance included the Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services (DSS), Nigerian Army, Nigerian Navy, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), and the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Security, Air Vice Marshal Ben Chiobi (Rtd)_

‘This comprehensive security approach reflects the commitment of Anambra State’s security architecture to guaranteeing the safety of the visiting President, dignitaries, and citizens, while sustaining peace and stability across the state”he said.
