Soludo Appoints New Heads for Education, Health Agencies in Anambra

Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State has approved fresh appointments into key education and health institutions in the state, reinforcing his administration’s commitment to strengthening human capital development.
Among the appointments, Dr. Justina Chinyere Anyadiegwu has been named Chairman of the Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board (ASUBEB). A seasoned academic and current Provost of Nwafor Orizu College of Education, Nsugbe, Dr. Anyadiegwu is a distinguished English Language lecturer with over 30 years of teaching experience spanning primary, secondary, and tertiary levels.
In a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Christian Aburime, Dr. Anyadiegwu is expected to deploy her vast expertise as a teacher, linguist, and administrator to drive reforms and improve the quality of basic education in the state.
In the health sector, the Governor appointed Dr. Ezeaka Augustine Uwaeme as Executive Secretary of the Anambra State Health Insurance Agency (ASHIA), Dr. Obianuju Chinelo Okoye as Executive Secretary of the Anambra State Primary Health Care Development Agency, and Dr. Hillary Nkem Okeke as Executive Director of the Anambra State AIDS Control Agency.
Aburime described the appointees as highly experienced professionals with proven track records in their respective fields.
“Dr. Uwaeme is a seasoned medical practitioner with over 22 years of experience in Medicine and Surgery, with extensive clinical and management expertise,” he said.
“Dr. Okoye is an accomplished medical practitioner with strong administrative competence, exceptional training skills, and broad clinical experience across hospital and public health settings.”
“Dr. Okeke is an award-winning, multi-skilled medical expert and lecturer with notable research interests in epidemiology, global health management, and community health systems. He has presented scholarly papers at several conferences and seminars.”
He expressed confidence that the appointees would leverage their collective expertise to significantly enhance healthcare delivery and educational standards in Anambra State.
