An Abuja based Enugu businessman, Uche Nnaji (Nwakaibie) has won the gubernatorial ticket of the All progressive congress in Enugu state.
Uche Nnaji who hails from Akpugo, Nkanu West Local Government area of Enugu state polled 1070 votes to emerge the APC Candidate.
He was a sole aspirant for the Gubernatorial primary Election of the APC.
Five elected state delegates from each of the 260 wards in the state participated in the primaries.
Nnaji was a one-time senatorial aspirant in Enugu East Senatorial Zone. He Won the senatorial election on the platform of AD in 1998 but later stepped down for former governor of old Anambra State, Jim Nwobodo.
Nwobodo came back having lost to Obasanjom at the Jos PDP primary.
Jim won the subsequent re run against late Agbo Nike the owner of Filbon Hotel Enugu.
