Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, Chief Okechukwu Ezea and Senator Chimaraoke Nnamani were among the senatorial candidates cleared in the final list released by INEC for the 2023 senatorial elections in Enugu State.
Governor Ugwuanyi was cleared to contest for Enugu North senatorial district election on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Also cleared is Okey Ezea who was cleared to contest for Senate on the platform of the Labour Party.
They will be joined by 26 others cleared to contest the election in Enugu North, Enugu West and Enugu East Senatorial Districts from various political parties.
Also, one of the longest serving members of the House of Representatives, Hon. Toby Okechukwu was cleared to contest on the platform of Labour Party in the same Awgu/Aninri/Oji River Federal Constituency.
Others are Rt. Hon Offor Chukwuegbo for Enugu North/South Federal Constituency as well as Wilfred Okeke popularly known as Wilangy for Udi/Ezeagu Federal Constituency.
