Ahead of the Anambra South Senatorial District bye election the past Presidents General of all Communities in the zone this Monday endorsed the Senatorial ambition of Chief Executive Officer of Sea Horse Lubricant Industries Ltd Chief Ebuka Onunkwo .
The Association of Past Presidents General (APPAS) of the entire town unions in Anambra South Senatorial District stated that Onunkwo is a true son of the area and has what it takes to manage the affairs of his people.
This endorsement was announced after a closed-door meeting that took place on Wednesday, 4th December 2024, at the palatial residence of Chief Onunkwo in Ihembosi, Anambra State. Speaking during the meeting, the Anambra South Zonal Chairman of the association, Ichie Sir IG Nnubia stated that they have reviewed the antecedents of all who have indicated interest in replacing Late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah at the senate and find Chief Onunkwo as the most fit for the task.
In his words, “Given our wealth of experience at the grassroots level, we know what it takes to represent Anambra South creditably at the Senate and we have taken time to understudy the antecedents and qualities of all those who have indicated interest to represent our district and none comes close to Chief Ebuka Onunkwo”.
“Whether in human capital development, community service or excellence in character and untainted pedigree, Chief Onunkwo dwarves all the others who have indicated interest. Given the high standard already been set by the late Senator and our indefatigable working governor who is also from Anambra South, we believe that Chief Onunkwo is best suited to take the senatorial district to the next level”.
In his response, Chief Onunkwo stated that he is humbled by the confidence bequeathed to him by the association and promised that he would do everything in his power to address the various concerns in their towns if given the opportunity to serve. In his words, “I made the decision to throw my hat in the ring because I need a bigger platform to touch lives and drive the needed developmental interventions that will better the lives of our people”.
It will be recalled that Chief Ebuka Onunkwo is a textbook example of a grass-to-grace story; a young struggling lad from Ihembosi, Ekwusigo Local Government Area, who by sheer dint of hard work, humility and fervent faith in God became an accomplished entrepreneur and the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Sea Horse Lubricant Industries Ltd, a consistently high-quality brand, as well as an entrepreneur with years of community and human capacity development achievements under his sleeves. He is contesting to represent the Anambra South Senatorial district under the state’s ruling party, All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA.
