The last week Saturday endorsement of Gov Charles Soludo by the stakeholders of Anambra North Senatorial District has drawn fresh battle lines between the All Progressives Congress APC and the ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA in the area.
Recall that the Anambra North stakeholders made public the endorsement of the Soludo second term ambition which had in attendance some members of all the political parties in the area in which some members of APC were inclusive.
Reacting to that endorsement the Chairman APC Reconciliation Committee Chief John Bosco Onunkwo described it as false and bogus claims adding that it is the antics of drowning men.
Onunkwo noted that the one going amalgamation of all the interest groups and political organisation by his party APC is aimed at forming the largest political block that is real and verifiable than that made by the ruling APGA.
“Though Soludo says we are progressives but we are the bigger Progressives so we want to come together as an amalgamation of AC, ACN APC , ANPP , CPC APC even Labor PDP including people who don’t belong to a political party”
“Everybody if you even call me tomorrow and Soludo is looking at me I might endorse but I will not vote for him”
“See all that glitters is not gold and the incumbent has not performed well and because he has an intimidating approach many people who would work against him will not tell him or say it before him ”
“His foundation has fallen and he has very shaky foundation and that thing you see is very cosmetic ”
“When the rain falls the real color will come out and we must separate Paul from Bananas and these are antics of drowning men “he said.
In a sharp response to Onunkwo the National Publicity Secretary of APGA Mazi Ejimofor Opara contended that the Anambra North endorsement is sealed signed and delivered discharging the position of APC as mere playing to the galary.
Opara opined that “The position of APC is one that depicts fears and apprehension because they already know it’s implications ahead of the gubernatorial election and is the reason for this panic analysis”
“This resounding endorsement is a testament to Governor Soludo’s track record of delivery and commitment to the progress of Anambra State”
“The people of Anambra North have spoken with one voice, affirming their trust in the Governor’s leadership and his ability to transform the lives of the people”
“With this renewed mandate, Governor Soludo has been given a fresh impetus to push boundaries, innovate, and deliver even more impactful projects that will benefit the people of Anambra State.
“The people of Anambra North expect greater things from Governor Soludo’s second term, and the stage is set for a new wave of development and progress in the State”
Opara reiterated that with the fresh tonic occasioned by the endorsement the dream of APC winning the November 8th gubernatorial election is fast becoming a nightmare.
