Flowing from the mother of all rallies at the Okpara Square by the Nkanu people of Enugu East, the people of Enugu West have mobilized another well attended rally ahead the 2023 Enugu guber election.
While the people of Enugu East came out en masse to lay claim to the guber position based on the existing zoning formular which favours the zone.
Senator Ike Ekweremadu’s kinsmen are showing solidarity in support of the Nkanu people of the East.
The rally became expedient as a result of recent claims from some quarters that the guber position should be renegotiated since the zoning arrangement has gone round.
Enugu East insists it’s their turn and warned that for peace the zoning should continue to rotate.
Today, Saturday August 7, 2021 the people of Enugu West has risen in support of the the Zoning arrangement.
Senator Ben Collins Ndu among other major Stakeholders threw their weight behind the Nkanu people of Enugu East for the next governor.
The people urged Governor Ugwuanyi to go ahead and make pronouncement on where the next Governor would come from assuring of the support of Enugu West.
Speaking to EverydayNews on the choice of candidate Dr sir, Agubandieze Ogedi, a major stakeholder said the people are rooting for Engr Evarest Nnaji (Ondengene) for the Governoship position come 2023.
Dr. Agubandieze said ” we are here to show our solidarity to a workable and amiable governor of Enugu State RT Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.
“We have a wonderful candidate who we are supporting. He is a successful man in all fields. In business, he is successful, in human capital development, he is the best. That’s why we have decided to come here to show solidarity and by special grace of God come may 29, 2023, he will be elected and sworn in as the governor of Enugu State.
“Odengene is the best candidate in Enugu state not only in Enugu East. He is the best man for the governorship job. We are supporting him because he is the best. I am from Ituku in Enugu West but supporting him because he is the best and I want the best for the state.
“This is my own state and I want the best for my dear state. Odengene is the best that will happen to Enugu state and by the special grace of God, he will take over the Lion Building and continue from where Ugwuanyi stops.
