Just thinking aloud; yet the puzzle refuses to fall into place; the questions unanswered.
About a month ago, Enugu residents and Adoration faithful woke up one Wednesday to learn that Outspoken Catholic priest and Spiritual Director Adoration Ministry Rev Fr. Ejike Mbaka was missing.
There were protests and the DSS was number one suspect. The reason was clear: Mbaka had just lambasted President Buhari’s administration and had blessed Nnamdi Kanu of the IPOB for courage to stand for his people being massacred by herdsmen.
The DSS didn’t waste time to exonerate itself through a press statement where it stated clearly that they didn’t arrest Mbaka.
The Bishop was the next suspect and the Bishop’s Court was attacked forcing the release of Mbaka who later addressed a mammoth crowd that waited all day to see him.
Next, Mbaka was suspended for 30 days. He was to return on Sunday, June 6 and hold a mass at the Adoration ground where the DSS was already waiting for him.
Questions seeking for answers.
- Why did the DSS have to wait until Bishop Callistus Onaga was done with his own punishment?
- It is more than a month Mbaka last made a public appearance. Why are they arresting him now?
- Is it wrong to think that the DSS invitation letter was ready, and waiting for Onaga to handover?
- The insinuation that government influenced Mbaka’s travails, is it not being supported here?
