The Member Representing Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon Chinedu Ogah has advocated for a renewed collaboration with the Norwegian government to tackle emerging challenges and promote further development in Ebonyi State.

Hon. Ogah made the disclosure when he paid a courtesy visit to the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Abuja, where he met with the Norway’s Ambassador to Nigeria, Svein Baera.

Hon Ogah who is the House Committee Chairman on Reformatory Institutions expressed happiness on the impactful contributions of Norwegian government to Ikwo Local Government Area and Ebonyi State through the Norwegian Refugee Council’s Global Provider of Expertise (NORCAP).

According to him, NORCAP which is being operated by the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) and funded by the Norwegian government, has supported humanitarian, development and peacebuilding initiatives in the region. The initiative has been impactful and we must appreciate the gesture.

“I am here to show my gratitude to you and renew the relationship established with my Ikwo people in the year 1962 which was sponsored by NORCAP and attracted scholarships to Ikwo sons and daughters”

“I appeal to the Norwegian Embassy for further partnership and relocation to Ebonyi State for more development and progressive projects that would impact the life of Ebonyi people”

Ogah also commended the State Governor, Rt. Hon. Francis Nwifuru, for his progressive administration adding that since assumption of office, there has been improved security, favorable climate, and low taxation policies.

“For me, these are part of the reasons the Norwegian Embassy should consider strengthening its partnership with Ebonyi State.
