Twenty four hours after gunmen killed four members of the Anambra Vigilante Services AVS there has been growing disquiet in Ukpo and Abatete Communities as commercial activities are yet to resume in earnest.
This is coming as the APGA Media Warriors Forum AMWF has alleged sabotage by the opposition against the administration of Gov Charles Soludo.
At the major markets in Ukpo and Abatete Communities shops were yet to open for business for fear of further attacks while local security operatives have commenced identification check on both natives and non Indigenes of the towns.
According to a security operative in Abatete who would not want his name mentioned;
“We are suspecting that those people have been in our town possibly a day before they strike and they may have been laying ambush at the eateries and bars in our town “
“So we are being careful about that and we have briefed landlords on what to do ” he said.
At Ukpo , it was gathered that the leaders of the Vigilante Services are also carrying out similarly activities to avert future occurrences.
Chairman of Idemili North local government area who is also a native of Abatete Community Chief Stanley Nkwoka said that the Council is waiting for the report of the police investigation adding that from the report actions would be taken.
He however failed to disclose the plans of the local government in the area of improving security architecture in the area.
But the APGA Media Warriors Forum AMWE led by it’s Coordinator Evang Chinedu Obigwe has accused the opponents of the state government of sabotaging the security arrangements in the state just to stop the second term ambition of the governor.
” The November 8th 2025 election will hold in eleven months and about 12 days time and the evil minded opposition elements has resorted to the old strategy of sponsoring bloodletting in Anambra State to create the impression that Anambra is not secured, instill fear in the minds of Anambra electorates , pave way for the militarisation of the State and rigging of the election”
“Their evil plan will fall like a pack of card as usual”
‘As long as I am concerned, there is nothing like unknown gunmen but sponsored killers and they are behind yesterday attack’
“All that they want to achieve is to dent the image of the working administration of Governor Soludo”
“The disgruntled opposition elements knows very well that they have nothing to campaign with in Anambra State hence their reason for resorting to the wicked act of sponsoring insecurity in Anambra State on a condemnable bid to use it as a campaign tool against Governor Soludo in the forthcoming November 8th 2025 governorship election”
“I am confident that the will of Anambra electorates will definitely triumph over the evil plan of Anambra disgruntled opposition elements’
“Governor Soludo is Anambra electorates answered prayer and no amount of politically motivated bloodletting will stop him from completing his divine mission in Anambra State”
It happened between 2020 to 2021 but the will of Anambra people still triumphed over the evil plan of disgruntled opposition elements, it will definitely happen again in 2025″ he said
