Eighteen Shops were completely razed by the fire that gutted the popular Anambra Timber market, Ogbosisi on Wednesday.
Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ikenga Tochukwu who earlier confirmed the incident noted that the swift response of the Police and Fire service operatives brought the fire incident which happend around 8:45 Pm under control.
Ikenga added that “Police operatives have cordoned off the scene of the incident to prevent hoodlums from taking undue advantage of the situation to loot properties and goods of individuals in the area.”
He further noted that though no life was lost, the Command has begun an investigation into the cause of the fire incident.
