…Commends Gov Nwifuru’s Education Policies

The Chairman, Edda Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, Prince Chima Ekumankama have warned Civil Servants in the local government especially teachers to shun all forms of truancy, lateness and poor attitude to work as the council will no longer tolerate such attitude.
Prince Ekumankama who gave the warning when he paid an unscheduled visit to some government schools in the local government noted that it will no longer be business as usual as the council will not hesitate to sanction anyone who fails to adhere strictly to all government regulations and directives.
Some of the schools visited includes, Okpuma Primary school, Ozem Secondary School, Amagu Primary school 2 and Asaga primary school Amangwu Edda among others for verification, supervision and on the spot assessment of the schools.
The Council Boss said that the visit was part of his routine visit to the schools to ensure that educational standard are maintained and to ensure that the schools are complying with established regulations.
“The visit afforded me and my team the opportunity to inspect the physical condition of our schools. We went round to observe the classrooms, toilet facilities, libraries and play areas to ensure that it meets safety standards and are adequately equipped for effective teaching and learning.
“We also used the opportunity to evaluate the Effectiveness of teachers in delivering lessons and assessing if they are adhering to the curriculum and engaging students effectively.
“Another important aspect of the visit was to check if the students have access to necessary resources such as textbooks, uniforms and to also ensure that the students are in a safe and supportive environment.
Prince Ekumankama stated that the visit also enabled him to identify areas of improvement adding that he was able to engage with the leadership of the different schools, the staff and the students.
The Council Boss noted that the verification exercise is ongoing across all the government schools in the local government adding that retirees are also part of the exercise.
He commended the State Governor, Rt. Hon Francis Nwifuru for his workers friendly policies which he said has transformed the education sector in the State.
