A stalwart of the Peoples Democratic Party in Enugu State, Pastor Sam Iyiogwe, says there are lots of confusion in the party ahead of the electioneering campaigns.

Iyiogwe, a former Local Government Chairman of Nkanu East LGA, particularly noted that the Governor Nyesom Wike, Atiku standoff could have far reaching effects if not carefully handled.
He however, insists that the leaders of PDP know how to solve the problems.
“All they need is to give honour to whom it is due. Wike must not be mocked and his clique must not be looked down on; they must not be despised; they know what to do and I know they will do it.
“What is happening in the major political parties seem not to be pleasant, you can see open divisions because things were not done the right way. It wasn’t done like this in the past.
“Thank God the campaigns are kicking off, we are waiting to see the guidelines of our party the PDP, and the way it will go. There is still a lot of confusion in PDP and APC, whether we like it or not. Some will say forget Wike and his people, this looks like we are not putting ourselves in the position of the opposition that wants to take back power. Those who helped to sustain the party, are now the ones some are asking to be suspended.
“If you suspend Wike and his team, to me it means that PDP has prepared herself to lose the Presidential election. These are the people that kept your house in time of trouble and now, you want to discard them; even before winning the election. What will happen when the election is won? I support Wike’s call for us to be humble and act like a Party that wants to rescue Nigeria; that wants to takeover power. I am talking about the Presidency.
“If we are serious and sincere to ourselves as a Party, South East has been in the forefront of supporting PDP for years now, we have stood for PDP. The North are concluding their eight years as President, South-South and South West have had their turns; and even the Vice President Positions, how can we now say that the Presidential position should remain in the North and another Fulani candidate for another eight years?
“Look at people with intergrity, yes a Yoruba man is contesting, but Chief Ayo Adebanjo, leader of Afenifere, and a group of emminent Yoruba people said no, it’s not fair, it’s not equitable, it’s not justifiable, the South East should be given an opportunity. What stopped PDP from zoning the Presidency to South East.? What kind of injustice, marginalization is this? You can see why our people are agitating. Why can’t we agitate? We are not being treated fairly in every angle in our own country.
“You don’t want us in Nigeria, then allow us to go. Southern Governors met in the past and agreed that the presidency should be zoned to the South, why didn’t PDP stick to that like APC?
“Now, the Presidential candidate is from the North and the National Party Chairman from the North, and you want our people to be happy; you want Wike and his people to be happy. So, for us in the PDP let us do the right thing and try to put our house in order.
How do we solve the problem of the PDP.”
