Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has announced the immediate suspension of Otonye Briggs, the Caretaker Committee Chairman of Akuku-Toru Local Government Area.
The governor issued this directive through a statement released on Tuesday in Port Harcourt by his media aide, Nelson Chukwudi, and shared with the press.
While the statement did not specify the reasons for Briggs’ suspension, the governor has appointed Hon Bitebobo Nelson Amieye as his replacement..
The statement read, “The Chairman, Caretaker Committee of Akuku-Toru Local Government Area, Hon Barrister Otonye Briggs, has been suspended with immediate effect.
