Eight days into the commencement of Anambra gubernatorial election campaigns as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, the National Publicity Secretary of All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA Mazi Ejimofor Opara has described early campaigns by other political parties as small masquerades entertaining the electorates.
Opara who has been inundated with calls over the non starting of campaigns by the party stated that Gov Charles Soludo is more preoccupied with meeting the deadline set by him in providing good governance to the state and should not be distracted by the pressure to commence campaigns.
He contended that Anambra people do not want excuses for not meeting the deadline adding that the when Soludo would commence his own campaigns the other parties he described as little masquerades would ultimately disappear from the campaign arenas.
Opara further noted that Soludo is currently stamping his infrastructural footprints across the state with deliberate consolidation on the achievements so far recorded the campaigns would be mere icing on the cake.
Since the announcement of June 11th as the commencement of campaigns by INEC the trio of that All Progressives Congress APC, Labor Party and the Young Democratic Party YPP have been touring the twenty one local government areas of Anambra on campaign a development that has kept APGA suppoters worried .
“Since June 11, INEC has blown the whistle for the race to the “Lighthouse” Awka. Many have called me to enquire about our plans for the campaigns. First, as a government, there are deadlines that Governor Soludo has set for himself and everyone on the Solution team”
“Thus, a campaign at this time would be more of a distraction, and Ndi Anambra will not accept excuses”
“Across the length and breadth of the state, Soludo is stamping indelible footprints that require consolidation; nothing will veer him off this track”
“For the first time in the state’s known history, Ndi Anambra will be making a decision based on massive evidence of sterling performance, not hearsay”
“However, for the sake of “election economics,” we are happy that the early birds are flocking around and keeping the square busy”
“They are the “Ulagas and Aji Busu” in the masquerade cult. The Ijele will soon seize the entire space”
Opara sited a popular highlife song by a musical icon which according to him stated that when the big masquerade steps into the stage the little masquerades would all give way and ultimately vanish from the scene.
“For now, Soludo is very busy! And APGA encourages him to remain focused; our vehicle is sound, and the road ahead is clear” he said.
