Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi inaugurated the state chapter of PDP 2023 Campaign Council, Tuesday, 15/11/22, in Enugu.
Speaking on the occasion the governor said, “… the state chapter of PDP has constituted a robust campaign organization populated at different strata by battle tested, competent and experienced politicians…”
Among this class is Hon. Barr. Emeka Okeke, who, at different times, have been State Commissioner for Labour & Productivity as well as Commissioner for Chieftaincy Matters.
He is, presently, Special Adviser (SPA) to Governor Ugwuanyi. He heads the 24-man Administration Committee of the Campaign Council.
Urbane, Emeka Okeke, lawyer, estate developer, cerebral politician, is an essayist, a prolific, deep and profound intellectual. A quite political strategist and tactician, he was one of the brains behind the massive and spectacular primary election campaign of Odalije, Sir Chinyeaka Ohaa for the 2023 PDP gubernatorial ticket.
The emergence of Emeka Okeke who is the arrowhead of the Odalije political group as the Head of Administration Committee of the PDP Campaign Council is eloquent testimony to the ability of Governor Ugwuanyi and Dr. Peter Mba, the Enugu State PDP governorship candidate, to bring together all those who, hitherto, fought from different trenches for the 2023 PDP gubernatorial ticket to ensure that PDP goes to the poll as one undivided family.
It also speaks volumes about the political sagacity of Odalije, Sir Chinyeaka Ohaa, a philanthropist per excellence, ex-federal Permanent Secretary and one of the frontline contenders in the build-up to the 2023 PDP gubernatorial primaries.
Shortly after the emergence of Dr Peter Mba as the PDP candidate, Sir Chinyeaka Ohaa, according to sources, was said to have expressed his willingness to collapse his state-wide odalije political structure in support of Dr Peter Mba’s governorship aspiration.
This was unknown to political pundits and jobbers who, judging by Sir Ohaa’s perceived massive war-chest and a network of high networth political friends, were bandying about the view that he was heading to another political party to give PDP a run for their money.
But Sir Chinyeaka Ohaa, a Pan-Nkanu man, surprised the pundits as he has remained a loyal PDP man, determined with his Odalije political group to see to the success of Dr Peter Mba as the governor of Enugu state, and other PDP candidates, in the 2023 polls.
Sources, said that Sir Ohaa was not really miffed that he did not pick the gubernatorial ticket rather he was elated that the collective effort of all Nkanu sons and daughters who fought for the ticket and the wisdom of governor Ugwuanyi resulted in the continuity of the time hallowed clockwise zoning principle of the governorship of Enugu state from East to West to North to East … of the state, a zoning that is the fulcrum that rotates the wheel of justice and peace in the state.
Sir Ohaa has even donated his gubernatorial primary campaign office at 37 Park Avenue, GRA, Enugu to PDP National Campaign Council which uses the fully furnished sprawling duplex as Atiku Abubakar Presidential Campaign Office, Enugu.
