Labour Party Chairman in Oji River Local Government Area, Enugu State Ozo Ginger Ibeneme II has said that over 1000 members of the All Progressives Congress, APC and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, are set to join the party at the Local Government level.
In a statement made available to EverydayNews in Enugu the party leader said already some high profile defectors have already joined the party.
In the build up to the 2023 general elections Ibeneme said the party has already set up offices and ward executives established throughout the 20 wards of Oji River Local Government Area.
The Chairman who recently toured and hosted party meetings across the 20 wards said the party is gaining grounds ahead the forthcoming elections.
“I have established all 20 wards with executives and offices. I have toured all and hosted series of meetings with the ward chairmen. We have also received high profile defectors
“About 1000 APC members would be received into the fold shortly as they defect in droves. Also PDP defectors would be received en mass.”
The Labour Party has also opened its Local Government Head Office at the Oji River urban.
