Following recent lifting of ban on their operation, the notorious Oriokpa Nsukka masquerades are once again on rampage.
The masquerade was earlier banned following an attack on a nurse.
The victim, Miss Blessing Ogbonna, a staff of a private hospital in Nsukka was on her way to work when she was flogged until she fell down from a motorcycle.
Following the outrage that greeted the incident, Nsukka Town Union suspended the operation of the masquerades.
Exactly one year after the incident the masquerades are back with violence following a recent lift of the ban.
Viral videos making the rounds show moments they unleashed terror on road users.
Two incidents were reported Sunday, at the University town of Nsukka.
In one of the videos, Oriokpa masquerades took turns to flog a passerby, with one of them said to have stabbed the victim.

Some sympathizers were later seen pouring water on the young man.
