The possible release of IPOB leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu during an emergency meeting scheduled for tomorrow, Thursday December 2 has been confirmed by his lawyer.

Ifeanyi Ejiofor, lead lawyer to Nnamdi Kanu confirmed this in a statement.

He said the hearing of Kanu’s case will hold at the Federal High Court Abuja on Thursday.

In a short statement on Wednesday night, Ejiofor said the hearing will consider the legal team’s pending applications.

These will include the request for bail of their client.

Hear him! “Greetings UmuChineke, we wish to notify you that Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s case has been fixed tomorrow, 2nd December, 2021, at the Federal High Court, Abuja, for the hearing of our pending applications.

“As always, your fervent prayers are solicited. VICTORY is our only goal and it will surely be achieved.

“Thank you all for your support and prayers thus far”, Ejiofor wrote.

The emergency hearing is believed to be part of the outcome of the visit of Igbo leaders to Aso Rock where they urged President Buhari to free the IPOB leader.

The trial had earlier been adjourned to January next year.

Speculations are rife that the IPOB leader is likely to be granted bail in line with the request of the Igbo leaders led by first Republic Minister Chief Mbazuluike Amechi.
