Emergency workers in Lagos on Monday morning rescued nine women trapped in a sinking storey building after the early morning rains.
The building located at 47 Akinwunmi Street, North Estate Mende, Maryland, was said to have been flooded after the rainfall that lasted over four hours.
Reports say that flash floods were recorded in many Lagos streets at the early hours of the day while houses in some riverine communities were flooded.
He said NEMA had received distress alert on the building and immediately raced to the location to rescue the victim.
