Information reaching our newsroom claims that some Local Government Chairmen may face impeachment for undisclosed reasons which may not be far from politics and the 2023 general elections.
Grapevine sources say that some of the chairmen are being accused of anti party ahead of the election just as some of them are on the hot seat for alleged roles in the just concluded PDP party primaries.
Hon Ikenna Nwodo of Igbo-Etiti LGA is currently on the line of fire as his councillors have initiated moves to remove him from office.
Nwodo is just one out of five Council Chairmen who may be axed for double standards as the PDP in the state move to wield the big stick.
A youth group which identified itself as ‘Save Enugu Youths Initiative’, has cautioned lawmakers of the Igboetiti local government area, to forthwith, desist from continuing with the plot to unseat the youthful council chairman of the LGA, Hon. Ikenna Nwodo.’
The youth group was speaking on the backdrop of unverified speculations that Hon. Ikenna who is current chairman of Igboetiti LGA, would be facing impeachment (anytime soon) from his councilors.
He is allegedly involved in anti party and part of plot to enthrone a new party in the area.
