It was a rare show of philanthropy when budding Enugu politician Prince Chukwudi (jnr) Otiji graded roads in the Ibeagwa Community of Enugu East Local Area.

The Community road was becoming a nightmare for residents after the rains, a yearly occurrence that has posed a major challenge to the people.

Prince Otiji who said the job was part of his contribution to the community where he resides said there was need to keep the road motorable pending when government will find a permanent solution to the road.

The PDP stakeholder noted that Community development should not be left for the government alone and urged privileged individuals in the society to always give their little to improve lives and standard of living in the rural areas.

He however noted that the road which runs from the Jehovah’s Witness Ibeagwa into the new residential layout is a special case that needs government attention.

‘He said, “the road is on a water lane so, once it rains there is heavy water movement which flows through the road to the stream down the line.

“So long as the rains keep falling, the impact of the flood on the road is automatic and very visible. What we are doing is to keep the road going until it gets the required attention.

“The PDP Government both at the State and Local Government levels are very responsive and have done enough within the limits of funds available.

“We have no doubt that in the nearest future the residents of Ibeagwa especially those living around the Jehovah’s Witness shall have cause to rejoice.”

Prince Otiji hails from Aguobu Umumba in Ezeagu Local Government Area of Enugu State.

Residents of the area have already paid a Thank you visit to show appreciation.
