The people of Mmaku in Awgu Local Government Area of Enugu State have dragged member Enugu House if Assembly to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC for allegedly defrauding the community of N24M million.
In a petition made available to EverydayNewsngr.net the community accused Him Johnson Chukwuobasi of using the alleged funds to acquire a personal property in Enugu.
An Mmaku Community leader Mr. Benard C Anioke who signed the petition accused Hon Chukwuobasi, representing Awgu South Constituency of diverting N24m meant for the rehabilitation of Mmaku Cottage Hospital.
He wrote; “for a long time we have been begging Hon Johnson Chukwuobasi to return to the Community the sum of N25m dontaed by the State Government for the rehabilitation of Mmaku Cottage Hospital which he embezzled.
“As I write, the number of deaths recorded in Mmaku due to the abscence of a good medical facility is alarming, yet the lawmaker has the effontry to embezzle the fund provided to solve the problem.
“The matter is now made worse by the discovery that Hon Chukwuobasi used the N24m donated by the State Government to procure for himself a property of over seven flats residential building in Enugu.
“The property is located at Ugwu Zion area of Ugwuaji extension, along the expressway.
“Mmaku indigenes are dying in their numbers . Pregnant women and infant mortality is on the high side and here is our Hon Johnson Chukwuobasi diverting the fund for solution of this problem for his personal economic gain at the detriment of the people that elected him.
“Help our Community and compel this man to sell the gigantic property and return to the community our N24m donated by the State Government for the rehabilitation of Mmaku Cottage Hospital before the entire indigenes will die of “
The Writtter of this Petition is a pathological liar. It’ll do him favour by pulling this petition down and cancel it with the EFCC. Mmaku People will deal with him if he fails to retrace his steps. Because all his allegations are non existent. Hon Johnson Chukwuobasi had been serving Our Constituency creditably that we had decided to let him go for the second Term. All what he wrote here were from the pit of hell. The Cottage Hospital and Health Centre among others were rehabilitated. And they are all functioning. We don’t have Mmaku People dying in droves as he alleged. And by God’s Grace mass deaths will never happen in Mmaku in Jesus Name, Amen
