A visibly angry and frustrated customer Tuesday led others in protest as bank officials at the Western Union section of the Okpara Avenue branch of first bank decided to distribute the available dollars between friends and family members.

Our reporter who was present at the bank observed how the the lady and her male colleague selectively attended to those who evidently were close pals.

They repeatedly warned that each customer was entitled only to a hundred dollars, yet their friends left the banking hall with over 500 dollars

The man on a blue shirt and red tie had no time to talk to anyone while the lady spent more time chatting with her phone ignoring the bank customers.

At 3:pm they announced that they were done for the day and all other customers should come the next day, Wednesday.

It was at this point that the man who all the while had been quiet even when they refused to take his teller from him.

He ran out of patience when the male banker arrogantly told the customers who were less than 12 in number at the tome, that he was done for the day.

This was seen by the customers as a ploy to hoard the currency especially those deposited same day by customers.

The man who led the protest challenged the the banker for not showing any form of courtesy in dismissing customers some of whom had been at the bank as early as 10:am.

There were hot exchange of words and abuses before the frustrated customers left the banking hall.
