The Owerre-Ezukala Community in Orumba South Local Government Area of Anambra State has dismissed report in an online medium (Not Everydaynewsngr.net) accusing it’s traditional ruler of sponsoring gunmen in the locality.
A communique issued by the Owerre-Ezukala Traditional Council and made available to the media absolved the front line traditional ruler, HRH Ambassador T.O Ogbonnaya of any wrongdoing.
The Communique read in part: “Having analyzed critically the raison d’etre for laying false accusations on the traditional ruler of Owerre-Ezukala and having confirmed that the land dispute was settled by the community as
part of the roles and function of the traditional ruler to wit:
“To help in reconciling disputing parties in the community.
“Having confirmed that Igwe Ambassador T.O. Ogbonnaya has not
breached his oath of office as the Ogbampiaka, Igwe and traditional
Head of the community as he has faithfully and conscientiously discharged the duties of his office.
“Having considered the press release concerned professionals of Owerre-Ezukala who also condemned this libellous publication.
We hereby state as follows:
1.The traditional ruler of Owerre-Ezukala has not involved himself
in any conceivable criminal activity by any name described.
2.That Igwe Ambassador T.O. Ogbonnaya is bound by the laws, rules and regulations made by relevant authorities in the State and acknowledges the giant strides of His Excellency Prof. Charles
Soludo in securing the State.
3.That the settlement of boundary dispute between Iyiafor village
and Nkputu village both in Owerre-Ezukalawere was done without the
participation of any non-state actor.
4.That H.R.H having further instructed his legal team to seek adequate damages in court, commands the support of the Ogbampiaka-in-Council in this regard.
5.We further reaffirm our confidence on the traditional head of the kingdom.

Everydaynewsngr.net reports that counsel to the revered traditional ruler has through his counsel Chike Anthony Ukoh (esq) written the concerned online medium to retract the report and tender an apology to the Traditional ruler or face court action.
