Enugu Community cries to Governor Mbah, as Energy Committee extorts residents
The residents of Amaechi (Onuorie) have written to Governor Peter Mbah urging him to save them from the hands of a certain Electricity Committee.
They alleged that some miscreants are hiding under the Committee to extort the people in the area.
They wrote:
Your Excellency the Governor of Enugu State, Dr Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, I write to plead that you come to the rescue of residence of Amaechi ( Onuorie) where some miscreants in the guise of Energy committee are EXTORTING the residents over ELECTRICITY TARIFFS.
The place in question is no more a village, but the EEDC and this so-called Energy committee are in connivance to extort users of electricity in the community, since they have refused to debulk the metering system. Sir, your speedy response and action is highly solicited to ameliorate our sufferings. Even when we didn’t’t use energy over a period of time, they will still bring outrageous bills for you to pay. Recently, it is trying to bring crises since some of our youths are against this obnoxious act .
