Rita Uchenna Nkem Dominic Nwaturuocha was born on 12th July 1975 to the Royal Nwaturuocha family of Aboh Mbaise local government area in Imo State, Nigeria.
She is the youngest of four children.
Her late father was a medical doctor and late mother a nurse.
She attended Constitution Crescent Primary School Aba, Community Girls Secondary school Umungasi Aba, Federal Government College, Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom State, and University of Port Harcourt where she graduated, she studied Theatre Arts and graduated in 1999.
