The Army has described as fake a video making the rounds on social media where soldiers were seen shooting in a local community environment.
The video is claimed to have been taken somewhere in Isi-Nwgu Mgbowo, Awgu L.G in Enugu State.
But the Army spokesperson at the 82 Division Enugu, Abubakar Abdullahi said nothing of that nature happened in Enugu.
He however confirmed there was a raid in the community but said the military was not involved in the operation.
Further investigations revealed that the house of a suspect who is believed to be the brain behind most recent crimes in the area was burnt in a midnight raid on the community.
The suspect reportedly escaped but his house was razed.
It is not yet clear as at the time of this report which of the security agencies carried out the operation.
But the confirmation of the time of the raid which happened in the dead of the night does not appear to match the video which was shot in daylight.
