Two members of the Ebubeagu Security Network have been shot dead by unknown gunmen in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State capital.
They were shot dead at Ebebe junction, Ogbaga road Abakaliki Friday night.
Details of the attack were still sketchy at press time but our source confirmed that the remains of the Ebubeagu personnel have been deposited at a mortuary in Abakaliki.
Ebubeagu, a creation of the South East Governors was set up to check the rising insecurity in the zone.
So far, only Ebonyi and Imo States have set up the outfits even with reservations and outcry from the opposition parties in both stated complaining about the operations.
There have been allegations that they are used as a politcial tool but Government has denied such reports.
