Sit-at-Home: Inspector killed, 2 officers injured as gunmen attack Ebonyi checkpoint

A police inspector has been shot dead in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State capital following an attack at a checkpoint by unknown gunmen.

The attack happened Monday Night at the popular Union Bank roundabout, which is a stone throw from the State Police headquarters.

The gunmen reportedly opened fire at the checkpoint killing an Inspector instantly.
Two other police officers who sustained bullet wounds have been hospitalized.

Details of the attack is still scanty as at the time of this report but our source confirmed the victims were rushed to a hospital in Abakaliki.

Ebonyi is one of the State that have refused to comply with the Monday Sit-at-Home which has continuously paralyzed activities in the South East.

The government has used tye instrument of state to set up a security group, Ebubeagu which has been well equipped to assist the police to check the activities of unknown gunmen and enforcers the Sit-at-Home in the state.
