Soldiers have smashed a gang of gunmen who have been terrorising the Enugu metropolis in recent weeks.
The new wave of attack which started after three Hilux Vans attacked Super Market in the Onu Asata area, has caused tension and fear.
The Asata robbery was a strange one as the gunmen who operated in three Hilux Vans ended up carting away bags of rice, Carton’s of noodles and gas cylinders.
Since then Enugu has not known peace as two prominent persons have been assassinated while a police checkpoint was recently attacked and some police men killed.
Our source disclosed that the gunmen were traced to their hideout in Amagunze, Nkanu East LGA were they confronted the hoodlums.
