There is anxiety and shock in Anambra state following the kidnapping of Sir Jude Nnam, a renowned Igbo Catholic gospel artist and one of Nigeria’s most prominent liturgical composers.
Reports reveals that the incident occurred on Friday evening, around 6:00 PM, in Umunnachi, Anambra State.
The news was confirmed by the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) National Music Director and a member of the National Liturgical Commission of the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria (CSN).
Sir Jude Nnam, celebrated for his exceptional contribution to Christian music and liturgy, has been a beacon of inspiration for many in the gospel community.
His work has earned him widespread respect as one of Nigeria’s finest composers in the Christian music tradition.
Details of the abduction remain unclear, and no group has claimed responsibility for the act. It is also unknown if the kidnappers have made any demands as of the time of this report.
Neither the Police nor other security agencies has issued an official statement on the situation, but it is expected that investigations into the abduction will be launched promptly.
