2 killed, security Vehicles burnt as gunmen attack Enugu LG Vigilante Office

Unknown gunmen have killed the commander of the Igboeze North Local Government Vigilante Watch.

Mr. Chinedu Uramah was shot dead in Ogurute alongside his second in command in the early hours of Tuesday, 5th October, 2021.

Three operational vehicles were also set ablaze by the invading hoodlums.

Police report said unknown gunmen stormed the Neighbourhood Watch Organisation Office at Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area of Enugu State and shot dead the acting commander, Mr. Chinedu Uramah.

Also killed was his second in command.

The gunmen also inflicted varying degree of injuries on other security agents on guard and set ablaze security vehicles.

Enugu State Police Command says it has arrested three persons in connection with the killing of the two vigilante leaders.

The Commissioner of Police, Enugu State Command, CP Abubakar Lawal, fdc disclosed this when he visited the scene for on-the-spot assessment.

He assured that the attackers must be brought to book, also commiserated with the family of the deceased and prayed for the quick recovery of tjose in the hospital.

The CP who spoke via a statement issued by the command’s public relations officer, ASP Daniel Ndukwe described the “act as senseless and has ordered the State CID to carry out full-scale investigation to fish out and bring the assailants to book.”
