…APC Pegs Chairmanship Forms at N30m

Minister for Works, Senator David Umahi has commended the Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru for endorsing his son, Osborn Umahi as the consensus candidate for the Chairmanship position of Ohaozara Local Government Area of the State ahead of the Local Government Election slated for August this year.
Senator Umahi made the commendation in his country home, Umunaga Uburu in Ohaozara Local Government Area when Management and Staff of Alex Ekwueme Federal Teaching Hospital, Abakaliki, David Umahi Federal University of Health Sciences, Uburu and David Umahi Federal Teaching Hospital Uburu paid him Christmas and New Year homeage.
Senator Umahi’s first son, Osborn Umahi alongside other 12 aspirants emerged as consensus candidates for the local Government election after a stakeholders meeting of the 13 council areas and APC leadership convene by the State Governor, Francis Nwifuru in his Oferekpe country home.
The Works Minister noted that it is a rear privilege for the Governor to drum support for his son’s aspiration as the next local Government Chairman of Ohaozara LGA adding that the Governor has shown an uncommon love for his family.
“Let me commend his Excellency, Governor Francis Nwifuru for endorsing my son and finding him worthy to emerge as the consensus candidate of our great party ahead of the local Government election in the State. He has shown great love for me and my family and that’s why I have continued to say it, that there is no vacancy in Ebonyi Government house.
“Governor Nwifuru as Speaker of the State House of Assembly approved the naming of the international market after my mother. Saint Margaret Umahi International Market. It shows capacity and loyalty. That’s why today, I see no regret supporting him to be Governor of Ebonyi State.
“Governor Nwifuru come 2027 has no alternative in Ebonyi North zone. He has should capacity. He is doing well and we will continue to support him. There is no other that would have performed better. We will support President Tinubu and support Governor Nwifuru to continue to deliver to the people the dividends of democracy.
Meanwhile, the All Progressives Congress APC in the State has pegged the expression of interest and nomination forms for chairmanship position to N30m, while that of councillorship is pegged at N250,000.
The party also announced that the sales of ward delegates and councillorship forms will starts from 8th of this month, while that of Chairmanship will start from 9th and ends on 19th of January.
The State Chairman of the party, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha made the disclosure in Abakaliki shortly after a closed door meeting with the 13 local government and 171 ward party Chairmen and Secretaries in the state.
Emegha maintained that the meeting was to brief them on the preparation ahead of the election adding that primary elections for Councillorship and delegate will hold on 24th January while that of the Chairmanship will hold on the 26th.
The Party Chairman further started that the party has adopted option A4 for the delegates and councillorship elections while that of chairmanship will be a delegate election. “This is to say, the elected delegates will be the ones to elect the Chairmanship candidates”.
Chief Emegha also noted that the E-registration and revalidation of party membership will soon commence adding that the exercise will last for 30 days.
He urged the party executives to endeavour to ensure that Ebonyi records the highest in the exercise and commended Governor Nwifuru for his continued support to the party. Ends.
