A group under the auspices of Ebonyi Central Youth Forum, ECYF has described the Senator Representing Ebonyi Central Senatorial Zone, Sen Ken Eze one year in office as a complete failure, misrepresentation and unimpressive.
The group led by Hon Clinton Igwe said that the people of Ebonyi Central Senatorial Zone are yet to fill the impact of his representation adding that his high-handedness, pride and overbearing attitude towards th people of the zone has brought further hardship and economic deprivation to the people.
Hon Igwe while speaking to Journalists shortly after the Constituency Briefing of the lawmaker said that the people will not allow any imposition of ungrateful politicians on the people of the zone again adding that while others are benefiting from the goodwill of their representatives, the people of Ebonyi Central zone are yet to see any positive impact in his representation.
He described as regrettable and unfortunate the utterances of the Senator during the briefing. How on earth will a Senator openly inform stakeholders of the zone that he bought exercise book to write down names of vulnerable and less privileged persons in the zone that he gave financial assistance. What is the essence of writing the names?, what is it for. Is the money his personal money, the money is meant for the people he represents.
We the youths of the ruling All Progressives Congress APC from Ebonyi Central Senatorial zone want to unequivocally say that we are disappointed in the representation of Senator Ken Eze. We have to hide our faces in shame when he announced right before the over 40 media houses both National and Local that he bought two exercise books and directed One Philip his aide to be writing names of vulnerable and less privileged persons in the zone he gave N10,000 financial assistance.
It is highly unacceptable and unfortunate that the rural women who campaigned for him under the sun and rain, risked their lives to vote for him even when it was obvious that he is an unpopular candidate had to be degraded in such a manner.
Worst of it all was his usual high-handedness attitude towards the Stakeholders and other constituents invited for the Constituency briefing. Is it not an insult to have invited the entire Senatorial Zone consisting of four local government areas and prepared only 7 cooler of rice for them. No wonder the hungry constituents invaded the food stand having spent over 7 hours at the venue without food or water.
Senator Eze should hide his face in shame that he shared only 20 bags of fertilizer to each ward per local government in the 4 local government he is representing amounting to little over 1000 bags while a member of the House of Representatives from the same zone shared over 1500 bags of fertilizer, over 50 sets of generating Sets, over 30 grinding machines, over 50 Refrigerators among others.
He boasted of giving 50 persons jobs in the last one year in office while other National Assembly members in the State has given well over 100 persons jobs in their Constituencies. Enough is Enough. He can’t continue to deceive the people of Ebonyi Central Senatorial Zone.
The Group called on the State Governor, Rt Hon Francis Nwifuru, the Minister of Works, Sen David Umahi and the State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress APC, Chief Stanley Emegha to allow the people of the zone choose their representatives in the next general election.
Each time he keep boasting about being close to the State Governor and Senator Umahi, yes they are our leaders but we want to plead with them that they should please allow the people choose their representatives in the overall interest of the party come the next general election.
His Excellency, Rt Hon Francis Nwifuru and Sen David Umahi are doing great jobs in the State. Working closely with the people. Assisting the less privileged without making noise about it. But on his part, he bought exercise books and is writing names of rural dwellers, party faithfuls and indigent people he assisted and promised to announce their names in his next Constituency briefing. This is shameful. He is simply trying to scare people who have integrity and image to protect from coming to him for assistance. Else what else is his intentions of announcing the names.
We will soon meet to pass a vote of no confidence on him as there is no other way to express our disappointment in his representation.
In a swift reaction, the media aide to Senator Eze, Mr. Godwin Eze described the group as faceless adding that they are being sponsored by the detractors of the Senator.
He maintained that the stakeholders at the Constituency briefing are happy with the scorecard of the Senator and urge the people to disregard the write up by the group. Ends.
