Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court, Abuja on Thursday nullified the Abia State All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Governorship Primary election held on 29th May, 2022.

The Court however did not declare the plaintiff winner, instead ordered that a fresh primary election be conducted within 14 days.

Chikwe Udensi, one of the aspirants that contested for the sole governorship ticket but lost to Professor Greg Ibe, had challenged the outcome of the exercise, claiming that the exercise was marred by irregularities.

In its judgement, Justice Nyako held that from the evidence and testimonies of witnesses, it was clear that the 29th May, APGA governorship primary election in Abia State was flawed by irregularities.

Udensi had urged the Court to declare him the winner of the primary election and the governorship candidate of APGA in Abia State, or in the alternative, order for the conduct of a fresh primary election.
