In a rare show of love and passion for the downtrodden, a prominent Enugu Governoship aspirant has used the Easter celebration to reach out to widows and the privileged in Awgu Local Government Area of the State.
At a time when most aspirants are tied with consultations and politcial meetings ahead of part primary, Prince Gilbert Chikwado Chukwunta a Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Governoship aspirant made out time for an Easter get-together with this seemingly forgotten group.
Over 33 widows and 11 special persons participated in the Easter progrmame which held Wednesday at the Awgu Council Hall.
The jubilant widows and other less privileged persons in attendance were given cash gifts by the guber Candidate.
Prince Chukwunta has always maintained that he is in the Enugu guber race to put Enugu in the map of the world and make life more meaningful to the people.
Apart from his prime agenda to industrilaize the state Chukwunta also has human development and empowerment as part of the top progrmames in his agenda.
One of the latest entrants to the Enugu guber race Prince Chukwunta who hails from Obeagu in Awgu LGA of Enugu State is amongst the top contenders to succeed Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi at the Enugu Lion building.
Those who graced the Easter get-together included the Chairman of Awgu Local Government Area Hon Pedro Nwankwo, his deputy and all the 11 ward councilors and supervisory councilors.
