Obi disclosed that the state had equally deployed Rapid Diagnostic Test Kits in all the healthcare facilities in the state for quick testing with the support of World Health Organisation (WHO) and United Nations International Children Education Fund (UNICEF).
He said “We have not stopped community testing, all these while we have not stopped community testing.”
On whether the state will be needing assistance from the federal government, he said “no. So much have been provided even up to rapid diagnostic test kit, and there are centres around the state and local government where we have identified health facilities, testing is going on even with what is called rapid diagnostic test for Covid-19.
“So testing is going on, the test kits for testing is available in many of the primary health care facilities around the state. And we are getting support from other agencies – WHO and UNICEF are supporting the process of testing.
“So testing is going on, people are being encouraged to go to these facilities and ask for test; and if a facility you enter is not able to provide the test they will direct you to a place thet can be able to test you so that if there is any need even a rapid test can be done. And then with rapid diagnostic test somebody can now directed to where you can get the gold standard.”
