Chief Okeke, 92, born on 31 January, 1932, died peacefully in his country home Obuoffia on 24 February, 2024.A wake in his honor is scheduled to hold on Thursday, 11/04/24, at his country home, starting from 5pm. On Saturday, 13/04/24, at 8am, body leaves Eastern Nigeria Medical Centre Mortuary in a motorcade to his country home for lying-in-state, followed by burial/Church service at 10am in his family compound. Interment in his compound is at 12pm after a church service. Entertainment of guests and other funeral ceremony follow thereafter.

On 14 April, 2024, there shall be outing service at Immanuel Methodist Church Obuoffia.
The nonagenarian was a notable community and religious leader who had a distinguished career in the Nigeria Coal Corporation and retired voluntarily. After retirement, he remained active as he ventured into oil and gas business, downstream, becoming the Executive Director of Checkpoint Petroleum Ltd.
