…As Lawmaker Resigns From Party

The Governorship Candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 general election in Ebonyi State, Comrade Eze Oko Splendor has accused the Member Representing Ohaozara, Onicha and Ivo Federal Constituency, OHANIVO, Hon Nkemkanma Kama to the All Progressives Congress APC of plotting to hijack the party in the State for APC.
Eze said that the party received with joy the defection of the lawmaker to the APC and maintained that the lawmaker has been a mole trying to hijack Labour Party in the State.
Comrade Eze said that his failure to achieve that forced him to leave the party.
In a Statement signed by him and made available to journalists Comrade Eze said, “Hon Kama failed to hijack Labour Party for APC in Ebonyi State, and that’s why he waited for long before publicly leaving. He was never our member.
“Labour Party in Ebonyi State wishes to commend the National Interim Chairman and Interim National Secretary of our great Party Sen. Nenadi Usman and Sen. Darlington Nwokocha for standing firm and not allowing Hon. Nkemkanma Nkama of Ohanivo Federal Constituency the opportunity to actualize his major assignment which was to hijack the party at the state level for APC which has led to his final resignation/defection from Labour Party to APC as a failure.
“This is a testament and a reality which APC in Ebonyi State needs to know but have failed to realize that Abure who was everything transactional is no longer in charge of our great party.
The APC in Ebonyi State had thought that they could use Hon. Nkama to hijack our party in Ebonyi State just the way they used Edward Nkwegu Okereke Edon to try to hijack it or distract our 2023 election outing through Abure as the then National Chairman but met a solid resistance in the person of Comr. Eze Oko Splendour.
The news of Nkama’s resignation and defection is a cheering one in Labour Party because it was long expected. He was known by everyone in Ebonyi State including onlookers as a mole in Labour Party.
In a letter dated 16th July, 2025, and signed by the Amaze Ward Chairman of LP in Ishiagu Ivo Local Government Area, Mr Chukwudi Chukwu confirmed the resignation of Hon. kama from the party.
In the letter, Mr. Chukwu said, “The lawmaker representing Ohaozara/Onicha/Ivo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon.Nkemkanma Kama has officially dumped the Labour Party (LP).
The Letter reads; Resignation from Membership of the Labour Party. I write to formally tender my resignation from the Labour Party effective 16th July 2025. This decision comes after extensive consultation with my immediate family, political associates and well wishes who have supported my journey so far.
“After careful consideration, I have come to the conclusion that this step is necessary for the greater good of our people.
It would be recalled that the All Progressives Congress APC State Chairman, Chief Stanley Emegha had last week hinted that a Federal Lawmaker would be joining the APC in no distant time. Ends.
