Anglican Bishop of Enugu Diocese Most Rev (Dr) Emmanuel Chukwuma has condemned the level of insecurity across the country warning that if nothing is done urgently the situation will degenerate.

He warned that the country is sitting on a keg of gunpowder and could lead to a revolution.

In a press conference to mark his 30 years as a Bishop, Rt. Rev. Chukwuma expressed regrets that the federal government has failed to live up to its responsibilities.

He said; “Buhari has failed. We have lost confidence. We have lost confidence in the economy, we have lost confidence in security, we have lost confidence in the system.

“Unless something is done fast we are in trouble. Our government has become so selfish, so materialistic, so unconcerned and insensitive to the needs of the people in this country.

“People are suffering and that doesn’t help us at all. So as I celebrate my 31 years as a bishop, I am speaking out again and saying that all is not well with Nigeria.

“The government must do something to improve lives and then stop this insecurity and we are praying.”

For the killings and attacks in the South-East Bishop Chukwuma urged all the leaders and people of the zone in Enugu, Ebonyi, Anambra, Abia State and Imo to work in unism to secure their lives and property.
