The Member Representing, Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency in the House of Representative, Hon Chinedu Ogah has described as unfair and misleading accusation by Dr Ezeh Emmanuel Ezeh,
Labour Party Candidate in the 2023 general election that he meddles in Izzi and Abakaliki political matters.

Hon Oga in a statement signed by his media team and made available to journalist said that his only involvement in the case between one Felix Okemini aka Jango, and Sunday Ogbonnia aka Bakassi with Dr. Eze was just to interface with all parties to reduce tension and explore an Alternative Dispute Resolution window to avoid public disgrace of Ebonyi image.

Hon Ogah expressed dismay that there is a calculated attempt by Dr. Eze to drag his name into an issue neither created, influenced, nor orchestrated by him.

The statement reads, ordinarily, Hon. Ogah would not join issues with anyone in the public space. However, for the sake of truth, clarity, and the protection of his hard-earned reputation, it has become necessary to state that shortly after the intervention and steps taken towards an amicable resolution, Dr. Ezeh personally reached out to me to appreciate my efforts and indicate his willingness to meet with me and even suggesting a convenient time for the continuation of the peace process.

The text message he sent to me reads, “Good afternoon my brother. Thank you for your intervention. If today is okay, we can meet from 7pm. Otherwise we can reschedule”.

He expressed sadness that Dr. Ezeh has consistently used social media to instigate tension and mobilise hostility against the government of Francis Nwifuru. “His constant attempts to create public frenzy do not translate to genuine activism.

He cautioned Dr. Ezeh to desist from parading himself as someone who supported him in 2019. “Beyond a few courtesy calls offering moral support as a friend, he contributed nothing. Conversely, his relationship with me earned him over ₦700 million worth of contracts, printing jobs from 2008 to 2023, all facilitated by me in good faith.

“It is important to note that even the most recent printing contract awarded to him was not delivered, and he was compelled to refund the money.

“My supporting administrative bail is not a crime. As a federal lawmaker and respected peace-builder, I merely supported the administrative bail of the suspects based on police recommendation of the Commissioner of Police and the IPO handling the case.

“This came only after multiple attempts to bring all parties together for dialogue at either Dr. Ezeh’s residence in Enugu or Abakaliki. I never announced nor implied that any final settlement had been reached. ADR was suggested by the police. I agreed and himself also agreed. The suspects agreed. Preliminary consent is not the same as a concluded agreement.

“It is both unfair and unfortunate for Dr. Ezeh to interpret a peace effort as “betrayal.” I have never harboured malice toward him. His only offence, if any, was his refusal to work against his own party for Dr. Ezeh, particularly when Dr. Ezeh attempted to solicit his help in influencing judges during his election cases.

“No law prevents a federal legislator from advocating peace beyond his constituency, especially in matters where the name of the state governor is involved. Leaders across Ebonyi regularly intervene in cross-community issues. My own involvement is neither strange nor unprecedented.

“Attempts to link me to any plot against Dr. Ezeh are baseless. The claim that “it is always me when harm is plotted” is unfounded, inflammatory, and entirely without evidence. At no time have i supported, encouraged, or condoned any attack (verbal or physical) against Dr. Ezeh.

The lawmaker further reiterated his commitment to peace, not politics of bitterness. Dr. Ezeh is entitled to his political battles, but he should not manufacture enemies where none exist.

“The threat of petition is unnecessary and misguided. However, if Dr. Ezeh insists on dragging me into unwarranted controversy for promoting peace, we shall leave no stone unturned in defending my impeccable reputation.

It would be recalled that Dr. Eze in a write up circulated on different social media platforms accused Hon Ogah of requesting the release on administrative bail of Felix Okemini aka Jango, and Sunday Ogbonnia aka Bakassi whom he accused of criminally defaming his character and issued threats against his life.

Dr. Eze noted that the justification of Hon Ogah was that he would create room for an Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) which I did not object, but I quietly asked myself why Comrade Ogah was inserting himself into Izhi politics.

He noted that he has never had any personal dealings with the suspects and challenged them to produce a single piece of evidence where he insulted any leader, whether a local government chairman, a legislator, a senator, or the governor himself.

“I asked the suspects why the threats and why the audacity to declare me persona non grata in my own land. To Comrade Ogah directly, I asked why it is always him when harm is plotted against me. Why does he meddle in Abakaliki and Izzi politics and sow crisis in Izhiland.

He further stated that by the end of Monday 17th November 2025, the ADR window closes without sincerity, “I will have no choice but to pursue further legal options.

“I have instructed my legal team to raise petition to the Speaker, Nigeria’s House of Representatives against Hon. Comrade Chinedu Ogah for criminal meddling, obstruction of justice, and for using his privileged position to deceive the police. Ends.
