The All Progressive Congress, APC, Youth Progressive Forum has endorsed Dr. Ben Nwoye for the position of Deputy National Chairman (South), describing him as the “visionary engine” needed to strengthen the party’s hold in the Southern region ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, the Forum’s National Chairman, Rt. Hon. Ukkasha Hamza Rahama, said Nwoye’s candidacy represents a strategic blend of party loyalty and grassroots empowerment.
He noted that the South requires a leader with a proven track record to unify its three geopolitical zones.
Rahama said Nwoye has developed a “revolutionary” roadmap aimed at delivering a landslide victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the next election cycle.
According to him, the strategy focuses on aggressive grassroots mobilization through town hall meetings and digital engagement.
“We are looking at a stop-at-nothing mobilization strategy. Dr. Nwoye’s vision involves a network of 10,000 trained APC ambassadors equipped with digital tools to take the President’s message of economic revival to every ward and village across the South.”he said.
The Forum explained that the campaign would deploy culturally relevant messaging in indigenous languages such as Igbo, Yoruba, Ijaw, Efik and Pidgin to ensure wider reach across the South-East, South-South and South-West.
Beyond elections, Rahama stressed that Nwoye plans to institutionalize a reward system for party members, noting that many loyalists are often neglected after electoral victories.
To address this, he said the aspirant proposes an “APC Southern Prosperity Window” to provide artisans, traders and entrepreneurs with access to grants and intervention funds from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
“Under his leadership, party members who worked for victory will be the first beneficiaries of empowerment programmes, rather than being sidelined,” Rahama added.
The Forum also unveiled plans for an “APC South Talent Pipeline,” a database designed to connect party members with employment opportunities in infrastructure, blue economy and agriculture value chains.
It further disclosed that a “Women and Youth Empowerment Desk” would be created within the office of the Deputy National Chairman to oversee microcredit schemes and leadership training for female party members.
Rahama added that Nwoye is exploring international partnerships to provide specialized training for party members in sectors such as renewable energy, agribusiness and technology.
“This is not just about a party position; it is about building human capital for the South,” he said.
The Forum urged delegates to the upcoming APC National Convention to support Nwoye, citing his experience as former Enugu State Chairman and his role in the Forum of APC State Chairmen.
Rahama concluded that Nwoye’s emergence into the National Working Committee would position the APC strongly for victory in 2027.
