Anambra Monarchs dismiss petitions against Commissioner nominee

Traditional Rulers and President Generals from Awka North local government area in Anambra state yesterday dismissed petitions against the commissioner designate for Home Land Affairs Chief Chikodi Anarah.

Anarah who before now was the Special Adviser to the former governor Willie Obiano on security matters was accused by some people led by Mr Jonathan Egwu and Obiora Nweke of high handedness and land grabbing in the ten communities that make up the council area and the petitioners urged the state House of Assembly not to clear him.

But rising from a meeting of the Traditional Rulers and President Generals of the communities as well as leaders of thought in the area numbering fifty four they in a resolution stated that;

This meeting which was called following petitions written against ChiefvSir Chikodi Anarah ; the commissioner nominee from Awka North , could at best be described as having emanated from busy bodies and meddlesome Interlopers who area known for writing frivolous petitions against innocent members of the society.

The stakeholders, President Generals and Traditional Rulers in attendance hereby request the extreme office of the governor of Anambra state and the Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly to disregard the said petitions as frivolous, unfounded and misleading.

Also in a letter to the Assembly signed by the President General of Urum community Hon Aloysius Tabansi and the Chairmen of the five villages that make up Urum community; Mr Fidelis Arinze, Mr Angus Nwankwo , Chidi Ozua, Samson Atado and Chief Luis Umegbolu , they stated that;

We the entire people of Urum community wish to dissociate ourselves from the said petition.

We wish to state categorically that Urum community has never either in dream or physical contemplated giving out any part of our land to Hon Chikodi Anarah following the invasion of Urum community by Achalla community.

Similarly the leadership of Isuanocha community made up of Mr Okoye Paul Onuorah , the Regent of the town Ozo Joseph Okafor ,Ozo Chukwudi Onwura , Edward Okoye and Onyemazi Ngini said that;

Isuanocha community does not share any land boundary with Amanuke community and as such cannot be dragged into any land issue against the person of Hon Chikodi Anarah of Amanuke community.

That Isuanocha community does not have any remote and immediate problem with Chikodi Anarah or Amanuke community for that we wish to dissociate ourselves from any malicious petition targeted against the person of Him Chikodi Anarah or Amanuke community; they said.
