By Okey Maduforo Awka
Gubernatorial candidate of the Labor Party in Anambra state Chief George Moghalu has dismissed as untrue the report that a certain law court has in a judgement disqualified his candidacy in the November 8th gubernatorial election in the area.
Moghalu further contended that his candidacy is not at risk adding that those claims are baseless.
According to a statement by his Special Assistant on Media Mr Johnson Okoye the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC duly monitored the primary election of the Labor Party and published his name officially as the candidate of the party.
“Let us state clearly and unequivocally: these rumors are entirely false. Dr. Moghalu’s candidacy is not in question”
“Legal actions in no way guarantee the outcome desired by those spreading misinformation”
“His emergence as the Labour Party’s governorship candidate followed all lawful and party procedures, was duly monitored by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and officially published. His legitimacy is indisputable”
Moghalu accused his political traducers who he said have been going about spreading rumors on social media that he has been disqualified by the Court.
“We are fully aware of those behind these malicious rumors. Their objective is obvious: to distract our campaign and confuse the people of Anambra, who rightly expect visionary and effective leadership’
“These are desperate tactics by politicians who, having lost their primaries, have migrated to other parties and now resort to cheap blackmail and propaganda. Ndi Anambra deserve to hear what these individuals can genuinely offer, not fabricated stories”
“We therefore call on all Anambra people and members of the public to disregard these malicious falsehoods. Dr. Moghalu’s candidacy remains firm, anchored in law, integrity, and the will of the people. Our campaign continues, unwavering, resolute, and fully focused on delivering a better Anambra for every citizen” it stated .
