The Ebonyi State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress APC, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha has assured that in no distance time, the People’s Democratic Party Governorship candidate in the 2023 General election and that of the All Progressives Grand Alliance candidate, Prof Bernard Odoh will soon join the ruling All Progressives Congress APC in the State.
Others that will also defect to the party according to Emegha includes the Labour Party Senatorial candidate for Ebonyi South Senatorial Zone, Hon Linus Okorie, that of the All Progressives Grand Alliance candidate for Ebonyi Central Central zone, Senator Emmanuel Onwe and all the opposition National Assembly members in Ebonyi State.
Chief Emegha made the disclosure in an interview with journalists in Ikwo during the flag-off of Hon Chinedu Ogah Empowerment and Scholarship scheme program, payment of WAEC, NECO and JAMB fees for students of Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency and distribution of fertilizers and other farm inputs to rural farmers.
The APC State Chairman who dismissed the fears of a possible crisis and implosion within the party following the defection of top politicians in the opposition parties to the APC, noted that the party is a disciplined party of which everyone knows it’s boundaries and limitations.
Very soon, by 14th of next Month, very many remnants of the opposition leaders, stakeholders, former Governorship candidates and their supporter will join us in APC. You are going to see House of Rep members and the remaining House of Assembly members decamping to our party.
We want all of them to join us in the party. Let us stay in the same house and argue things out. The intention is to develop the state. Let us develop the state. That is our plan. So, I am going to their houses talking to them on the need to join hands with the Governor to move the State forward.
The PDP Governorship candidate in the 2023 General election, Chief IfeanyiChukwuma Odii, Anyichuks will also join our party. He is no longer doing anything in wherever he is. If he has love for the state, why can’t he come? I am working on all of them. Apart from Anyichuks, the likes of Prof Bernard Odoh of APGA will also join us likewise, Senator Emmanuel Onwe.
And I believe very strongly they have listened. Yes, and they are listening to me. My target is to make sure that by next general election, there will be no fights, no squabbling, no trouble.
Let us give Mr. President the needed number of votes, we need to give to him. And then let us give to each and every one of us where the person fits in. The governor is the leader of the party. He knows all the stakeholders. He knows where fits anybody. And then he knows who to tell, go to this place.
You people have seen, there is no segregation in APC. He is not behaving only like an APC governor. He is behaving like the governor of a growing state.
Whether you are in APC, you are in APGA, you are in Labour, you are in all of them, including the former Senatorial candidate of Labour Party from the south, Linus Okorie, he will join us. I am working on them all.
“APC is a disciplined party. The highest and the most respected organ in the whole world is the army. Why is it like that?. Because if you join the army, they will tell you discipline is the paramount thing. In APC will believe in discipline, when you join the party, I will tell you, from here to here is your limit. The governor is the leader. He has the authority of anything he wants. And that is how it should be.
Chief Emegha stated that the State Governor, Francis Nwifuru is developing the State adding that his developmental strides has endeared him to the heart of the people including the opposition members.
“It’s about developing the state. What do you want to contest? You want to contest for a position. What is your intention? Is it not to develop your state? Now that you have seen somebody who is doing that thing that is in your mind, why won’t you give support?. Our Governor is an accommodating Governor and he is willing and ready to accommodate as many as that would want to join the party. Ends.
