Stakeholders of Nsukka Local Government Area, under the aegis of Nsukka Concerned Citizens Forum, have expressed sadness over the demise of Senator Okey Ezea.

It could be recalled that Ezea until his death, represented Enugu North Senatorial Zone.

At their meeting, which was held in Enugu on Wednesday, the Forum described Ezea’s death as very painful.

A communique issued after the meeting was signed by the conveners- Rt Hon Engr Ogbo Asogwa, Rt Hon Dr Chinedu Nwamba and Hon Amos Agbo.

They said it was a huge loss, not just to the late Senator’s family, but the entire people of Enugu North Senatorial zone, Enugu State and Nigeria at large.

Meanwhile, on the voters registration being carried out by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, the group advocated that voting centres be made accessible.

“Our group will embark on massive sensitization of voters during the period of registration.

“Our team will engage the Independent National Electoral Commission to provide accessible registration centres in all places where people are mobilized for the ease of registration.

“We also affirm our total support to the developmental agenda of His Excellency Governor Peter Mbah as outlined in his manifesto, and ask him to factor Nsukka into these projects as well as his appointments,” the Forum further stated. It also disclosed that sensitization in churches, traditional institutions, markets, traditional and digital media would be deployed to ensure that the citizens took advantage of the voter registration exercise.

While pledging to ensure that the unity of Nsukka people “as a bloc must be sustained,” the group said it would build a working relationship with critical stakeholders.
