Outspoken Catholic Priest and Spiritual Director of Adoration Ministry, Enugu Nigeria (AMEN), Rev. Father Ejike Mbaka has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to resign or face impeachment.
Mbaka who condemned the recent level of violence and insecurity in the country wondered how the president has remained mute and refused to speak in the face of fatal attacks by terrorists and bandits across the country.
“How can people be dying, the chief security officer of the country will be sitting down without making any comment. Gunmen attacking people everywhere. Let me tell you, if it is in a civilized country, by now, President Buhari will resign with what is happening.”
Mbaka therefore called on the House of Assembly to impeach the president if he fails to resign.
“Nigerians are crying because there’s no security in the country. The House of Representatives should impeach the president if he doesn’t want to resign.
“If they fail to impeach him and decide to attack me, something worse than what they can never imagin will happen to the members of the Senate and House of Representatives.”
He called on church leaders to support rather than attack him as they too were not immune to the challenge of insecurity
“I plead that the church leaders will understand me as a messenger of God and not begin to attack me because the danger is going to affect the church.
“When gunmen begin to the strike inside the church, they will begin to kill one man of God or the other or even members of the church, who will go to church again? The priests will loose their jobs, the Bishops will loose their jobs. So you better keep quiet or support what I’m saying,”
